Because the Holy Spirit exists in everyone. The Holy Spirit cannot be "taken away" by anything. The Holy Spirit is not a "privilege" or a "choice." It is ever-present & eternal in all of humanity.

Don't care, it's true. I'm not even particularly smart or conscientious so it's not like I'm gunning for the top of a hierarchy with this. In practice Christianity is much more hierarchical, just also arbitrary about it
