I feel like I should stop saying I had a 4.0 GPA when applying to jobs because it triggers the "outsmart the face value" tendency in literally everyone.

No your 2.8 GPA in English at a third rate college was not equal to my 2.8 GPA at a top 20 engineering school. No, my 4.0 at a glorified opportunity school does not mean I will leave your company within a year for a non existent plethora of other opportunities. Calm the fuck down
