finally got an appointment set for a concealed pistol license an opening became available in January of next year

https://www.atg.wa.gov/concealed-pistol-license-reciprocity … look into it though. I think one of the Dakotas issues outsider permits also but you have to pass a firing accuracy test taken in state. Still might be less hassle depending on time/budget

it's not a huge rush honestly, mostly just having for contingencies. main move at this point is just relocating to the burbs asap

usually out of state permits are not valid in the state in which you are a permanent resident I think
