The United States sucks, albeit less than most other places. It sucks for the same basic reasons other places suck. It is not exceptional. Coming here for comparative advantage makes sense. Coming here expecting perfection would be insane.

"sucks" does not describe any tangible features of anything. it's not a fact, so it's not factually true. you don't hold it to be relatively true, since you concede everywhere else sucks as well. how does it express a meaningful truth?
It's an index into various things I know from experience but haven't articulated and don't necessarily want to articulate to the current audience.
