I've only seen cryptocurrency used twice for goods/services. 1) A local arcade had a bitcoin machine to withdraw cash from. We got very seedy people who looked like they were on drugs coming in and out, so the owner removed it. 2) To purchase illegal drugs in Beijing lmao.

The only use cases that aren't drugs are at uncommon margins, like in Venezuela where the fiat currency is more volatile than bitcoin, or like, homeless people who don't have access to banks but have a phone or computer.
When I was homeless I only had a German bank account, a German paypal account, and a US paypal account. The only way I could get or spend money was to beg for paypal donations, transfer them to German paypal, withdraw to German bank, and then withdraw from international ATM, lol

I also got paid for 2/3rds of the writing work I did for someone in bitcoin during that time, which I immediately lost playing bitcoin poker.

Hells bells, this was a rollercoaster of tweets... That said, I couldn't even fathom that usage with no physical bank and having a way to keep money through technology. TIL!
