we have to create better technology to capture the kinds of thinking we do when walking, or driving, or cycling, or showering i sit down to write afterwards and i can’t begin to remember/conceptualize where to start kinda try to use twitter for this, but it’s a mixed bag

why privilege the real over the imaginal anyway? > real things tend to last longer { but are no more meaningful as a result }
-
why not? anything can be imagined, but without a criterion of quality about what *should* be imagined, why imagine anything at all? even solipsists and hedonists (tacitly) privilege reality, just the reductive, comfortable, parts of reality (their own cope)

oh, i missed this not sure what this metaphor provides us, except a rationalization for defeatism or fatalism
-
It's not a metaphor, though in practice it commits me to a combination of stoic fatalism and behaving more or less exactly according to the strongest priors I actually held in 2017. I genuinely think I am being tortured... in? Through, via retrocausal interactions? a simulation
