Wait, do you mean Heidegger? Because Heidegger would have loved to be the chief philosopher of the Third Reich but never actually achieved it. Or do you mean Nietzsche, who was closer to that position but never strove for it like Heidegger.

They stole Nietzsche. Schmitt was less of philosopher per se than a political theorist, (of course Heidegger was a grifter hack who never did an ounce of anything approaching substantive philosophy), but Heidegger is definitely the closest to the fascist project as philosophy.

I read Heidegger but couldn't understand him at all. Then I read Sartre and he made sense. People then tell me that Sartre is just ripping off Heidegger, but they also tell me I can't use Sartre to understand Heidegger, so I couldn't have anything to do with Heidegger if I wanted
