Unclear who is the aggressor; if one person has a knife, that person probably is the “bad guy” (says my split second intuition)

If someone has a knife, they may have drawn it in self defense, but they can put it away when the cops arrive, as they're no longer in danger. If both parties have knives, they're still in danger of being knifed if they drop their weapon.
