The explanatory theory says you have to explain people's actions according to their individual desires, not some objective fact about what makes things valuable (cost of production, consequences they bring, virtuousness, etc.) 1/2

Metaethical subjectivism says that the truth or falsehood of moral statements is decided by the opinion of the individual considering them. Whether something is right or wrong just turns on what a person thinks of them. 2/2
