If no one acts differently in counterfactual universes then their opinions don't tell you which universe you, or anyone else, is in.

If someone wouldn't act differently even if presented with entirely different evidence, there's no reason to trust their judgement, yet the nature of most social consensus is dogmatic agreement.

such people are almost always operating on a deeply engrained pathology that's orthogonal to their stated opinions anyway, and their revealed preferences are basically always in favor of themselves no matter the expense to others they should be avoided
