guy who thinks the age people should be able to start transitioning is 14 and that another guy who thinks that age should be 16 is an absolute unironic nazi

in all honesty we just haven't figured out what the ideal age for a person to follow through on transitioning should be, or what degree of input should be necessary from the parent/s if that age is below the legally defined age of majority

for example, as a general issue of bodily autonomy, in the US it is illegal to give a minor a tattoo or piercing without parental consent. is that reasonable? idk, it seems to be. should it generalize to transitioning? idk. but there is a definite relationship between the two

There's no such thing as a medically necessary tattoo though (except for those cancer tattoos they use to align chemotherapy rad bursts I guess)

"medically necessary" is a pretty vague term. will a person literally die if they aren't allowed to transition? is it just because they'll commit suicide? is someone being willing to commit suicide sufficient to deem something necessary?

We need less sentimentalist and more non-humanistic cause-and-effect, mechanical thinking in questions like this. If an actual trans person doesn't get treatment there is a good chance they will die. Mechanism is a superfluous moralism in this case, it can only obfuscate reality
