In general I have a pavlovian anger response at the word "loophole", because it reminds me of the reasoning and behavior of an abusive authority figure.
If something is not the law, it's just not the law. Calling it a "loophole" is at minimum an expectation that everyone should both be psychic enough to read your intention and also agree with it in terms of both values and consequences.
