guy who thinks the age people should be able to start transitioning is 14 and that another guy who thinks that age should be 16 is an absolute unironic nazi

that seems the most obvious kind of thing to do, to study it, so we can sift out "traits that a person is definitely trans" from "traits that a person could decide to later on, but is in a category that puts them high at risk for regret." common sense. so of course it's unPC.

Sadly, blockers are practically just a fast track to cross sex hormones. That was the reason they were struck down in the UK, of all kids on blockers all but one went on to hormones. The problem is the enforced environment of trans positivity occludes reasonable discovery.

The only real crime of the current wave of trans trending is that we're not getting fine-grained data out of it. Hell, we're not really getting any data at all. Unacceptable. This should be a data driven question, but instead it's been framed as a question of liberty vs safety

yeah that data would be really great to have. we don't seem to have any solid idea about how many later on regret, or what conditions regret is most correlated with. we know there *are* regret cases, but are they statistically significant in some sense we can detect?
