"If we disrupted the flow of capital for weeks on end tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of people would die" is not an exciting admission of the frailty of capitalism, it's a horrifying indictment of how capitalism has made us weak and isn't interested in our lives.

Virtually every anarchist hacker I've known has held at least at some point 0days that could collapse or seriously damage the internet and global economy. ...And studiously guarded and/or tried to patch those weaknesses because they were skewed to mainly damage the wrong people.

I'm a steadfast believer in autonomous individual attacks and exploits, of not waiting for some party bureaucrat to declare The Revolution, of spreading friction in the machine, but I'm also a believer in personal responsibility to strategically analyze the direction of impact.

It's fun to pretend smashy-smashy is universal when your attacks are basically inconsequential, but when you actually can meltdown a nuclear reactor and kill millions of people, you're forced to realize there are better and worse ways to hurt power.
