Ever notice how there's two emerging clusters: 1) abolish physical borders, develop communication filters 2) develop physical borders, abolish communication filters ? The former network configuration maximizes complex information structures, while the latter minimizes them.

This is why you get the anti-authoritarian left opposed to nations and borders but pro building more filters on who is allowed in social circles, whereas the reactionaries scream bloody murder about those filters but want everyone locked into a small town surrounded by a wall.

Filters should select for people who are the most argumentative and disagreeable tbh, which is the opposite of what most do in practice. Agree that borders shouldn't exist though.

Selecting for people who will speak up against things they know are incorrect, yes. Selecting for argumentative solely on its own merits, absolutely not. That’s literally just recreating the “every opinion is equally valid” with louder, equally wrong voices.

Ok ok, I guess I also have a novelty criterion. 10 people who are wrong in the same way are obnoxious, but get 10 people who are wrong in different ways in a room and magick happens. A cacophony of magick.
