Main problem with libertarianism something like: 1 Assume x is an axiomatically fundamental liberty 2 Find x leads to disutility without exceptions P,Q,R for it 3 These exceptions cost less than the disutility 4 Maintaining x given the disutility requires R, S, T exceptions to x
Then there is infinite blather about R, S, T are "different" in some way, R, S, T "cost less" (which is true maybe half the time and at any rate no longer an appeal to pure natural rights), P and Q are somehow more socially odious even though that's empirically false, etc.
