The psychological effects of music on humans are known and the only attempts to introduce novelty themselves inevitably converge on dissonance or complex polyrhythm, meaning even attempts to rebel against the common assumptions of music are bounded by the assumption's negation.

True, but music is like infinite checkers, while literature is like infinite chess. My opinion anyway. I don't think music is bad, I just think it's much less complex and ultimately offers fewer opportunities for expression. Music may even be ergodic within its normal limits.
