for instance, i have a software company that is doing an app for an organization, and that client mentioned in passing that the app would sell to other organizations my clients own the app, but they don't own a *product*- which i can provide, based off this app opportunity!!!

the proposal takes into account *everyone's* interest: they get into a lucrative software venture (they don't do softs right now), and their current app would be improved *how they want* i want capital to expand my venture, and crucially *their financially aligned advocacy*

if i tried to strike out on my own, with a complete re-write of the generalized app, it would be an uphill sales struggle- i simply don't have the connections these people do i would also be in the dark about domain knowledge about what these organizations actually *want*

That is all good advice but I am not sure how to make it apply to my own case

you might have to create some spec-wealth, and also make more connections to people with different but complimentary wealth both parties have to have something to trade! and the best trade accommodates each party's weaknesses/poverty
