My personal opinion is that biology still matters a little. There are instances where their original sex is of interest to society regardless of how they choose to dress or act. I would not treat a trans person different, but that doesn't mean their original sex doesn't matter.
That seems measured and reasonable, but it's also abstract enough that it could be hiding something unreasonable. I would agree that, at minimum, trans people who are outside the normal female physiological range should be barred from certain sports. Other things perhaps not.
