      So I increasingly have few criticisms of what Yudkowsky is saying but find him in the tradition of many intellectuals who are good at writing chains of reasoning onto paper (or the web) but kind of garbage fires of personality who attract other garbage fires of personality.

      If you set the bar as low as possible you're encouraging people to fall to bar + 1 as their own standard, which seems to be what's happened.
