I think this could also explain why the state of mind is associated with aberrant and maladaptive behavior. you're not meant to usually have that kind of access to your own mind. you can easily overwrite a reflex that actually is adaptive, w/o you realizing it.

assuming someone is in that state of mind, however, a more adaptive approach would be to assist someone in re-writing their own behaviors, especially those they've always wanted to but been unable. so the state of mind can be adaptive overall, given the right circumstances.

I was prejudiced against psychiatrists before this experience, but my own experience with it, and being able to literally *improve myself* deepened that prejudice. they can only think "stop person having this thought pattern" not "how can this thought pattern be used for good?"

this dovetails with research finding that outcomes for "schizophrenics" differ radically across cultures. we have a culture that is simply prejudiced against such different cognition, and thinks no good can come of it. psychiatrists enforce this prejudice, with the force of law!

that was certainly on my mind during the whole experience... if I told the wrong person what I was experiencing, I could end up involuntarily committed and effectively tortured - with society's approval! lowkey... terrifying. the one thing that made the experience scary...

psychiatrists are the one profession I rate worse than politicians and lawyers. the average guy in prison, at least for me, is a better person than the average psychiatrist. if I could, I would make every psychiatrist take every drug they've forced others to take.

a key part to my experience is that there was so much beauty to the world I'd never noticed before. music would move me to tears. I felt empathy for scoundrels. I could go to the beach and just watch the waves for hours.

I've already mentioned a few very specific experiences of synchronicity, which so far as I can tell were not just "being more sensitized to random patterns." the whole while, I paid very close attention, in order to discern a "true" synch from mere over-fitting...

what I was able to determine is that, in fact, there were a few "true" synchs, arranged by some, but a lot more of it was, having been trained to recognize synchs, seeing them happen where they were simply coincidental. you can really fuck people up by giving them a few synchs.

ofc, at the same time, if you have control over someone's web browser and websites they're visiting, it's a lot easier to arrange them, in the web browser and elsewhere. I'm sure this is exploited, because if you say you think someone was messing with you, who will believe you?
