make some random assed project. web site, Unity game, mobile app. do it the way other people are doing it. when you encounter tools you wish you had, make them and put them on github. do that the way other people are doing it. this is now your portfolio. show it to startups

I think I have too much brain damage for anything except getting a bunch of certs at this point, but I will consider it. Thank you

if you can make it past the HR department to actual tech people, being able to show and talk about something you have made yourself is worth a million certs if u tryna get hired

I uhhh... made an Inspiron 1525 into an OSX linux windows 7 triple boot machine once. I've configured an older desktop as a samba file server. And I've gotten Urbit working on my phone. Otherwise not much, nor do I honestly think I can build much.

if you can attain a state of ignorance regarding what you are capable of building, that may be very handy
