I always loved tech, I just thought its unchecked power should be even less checked/that it shouldn't collude with state surveillance but should instead do surveillance and enforce its own sovereign will.

if you can make it past the HR department to actual tech people, being able to show and talk about something you have made yourself is worth a million certs if u tryna get hired
I uhhh... made an Inspiron 1525 into an OSX linux windows 7 triple boot machine once. I've configured an older desktop as a samba file server. And I've gotten Urbit working on my phone. Otherwise not much, nor do I honestly think I can build much.

thinking you can’t build much is a very easy prediction to make come true selling urself is distasteful I agree but if ur tryna get hired, convincing yourself that *you’d* hire you is ... important and impossible when you’re incredibly depressed
