      what the "principled" conservatives miss is that rules require enforcing, and a rule of enforcing the rules requires enforcing, so if one defects on the rules against enforcing the rules, then the *correct* move, game theoretically speaking, is to defect in turn

      Well I mean, the left =/= liberals, whereas the right are a bigger tent. It's kind of a three way fight here between centrists (liberals), the right, and the left.
