I do wonder though, how much collateral damage powerful people are willing to do to try to hurt individuals or a small group. It often seems like, viewing their actual target with such contempt, they imagine them easy to dispose of, and calibrate their sense of force accordingly.
This is very discernible with the $600 vs $2000 dollars thing of all places. They don't want to accidentally uplift the poor, so instead they offer the minimum they think an average person could survive by, when by "average person" it's clear they have in mind a genius of thrift

My current paycheque, when converted to USD, was $610.70. I am an 'essential worker' working full time, lol. Guess they really value us and the risks we take on the front lines during this dreadful pandemic! (...nothing has changed...)
