I'm saying exactly what I typed, which is that if trauma always disqualifies then parents with gender variant children will more often choose to traumatize them to camouflage the legitimacy of their gender and prevent them from transitioning.

But no one's saying that trauma always disqualifies? You're strawmanning the argument. Also the point is that trauma isn't equal to being gender dysphoric. There should be rigorous assessment as to which path is the most appropriate. No one's saying DISREGARD abuse or dysphoria.

The point holds true if trauma disqualifies at a higher frequency. And I didn't say that trauma was equal to being gender dysphoric. Your arguments are pointless.

No, your point holds true only if we were disqualifying by mistake. Even if disqualification were occurring at higher frequencies, if those were *accurate* decisions that then helped people get proper treatment/therapy for their trauma, that would be a good thing.

Oh. So if something impossible is true then I'm wrong. I suppose that's valid.

Impossible? We already know detrans/desist individuals who say they wish there had been a better pipeline to therapy had existed 🙄 obviously assessments exist but they're not even in application. Are you actually arguing for fewer assessments? Affirmation only?

No, I am saying "It's ok, we'll just have 100% accuracy", which was your counterargument, is entirely insane.

Also it makes no sense to me that you're saying such assessments will enable parents to keep traumatizing their children, when the entire point is to try to get everyone the appropriate treatment they need, whether for dysphoria or for actual trauma.

A lot of things have points that they don't live up to.

Okay then isn't the point of transition to make trans people's lives better? Does the existence of detrans people make transition fall under the category of "a lot of things" that don't live up to their point then? No? Then how about we try to improve accuracy for everyone?

Transition does not entirely live up to its point for everyone. You can say that the availability of transition increases the number of detransitions in the same way you can say the disqualifying nature of abuse tends to increase abuse.

I don't really understand how disqualification based on abuse leads to more abuse as opposed to transitioning? There should be better pipelines to therapy/cps/what have you ideally I'd what I'm saying, but I don't see how transitioning would... stop abuse?
