I think back frequently to a conversation in DC in 2014 with a political operative where I suggested destroying the GOP as a populist measure to shake up who could become a viable candidate with conservatives

then Trump happened and I knew he would win immediately, soon as he made the announcement, and couldn't be sure if this would revitalize the GOP or result in its destruction now? he might bring the GOP down with him how ironic
