Immigrants understand the actual opportunities that exist and the actual games being played, with their limitations. Native born Americans are given unrealistic expectations and them yelled at when they point out the discongruence.
It's not that it's a cesspool at all, you just can't say a single damned thing against it even from a friendly place without some sociopath screaming at you that America is actually perfect and get the hell out
