People who think fitness is higher truth don't realize: 1. It's part of fitness to attempt to destroy competing fitness. This happens in practice whether it ultimately ascends or not. 2. Truth is meant to be transmitted unilaterally, fitness to be kept as competitive advantage

The relationship of organisms capable of understanding truth to truth is the relationship of organisms capable of helping parasites to grow to parasites. Truth gives kickbacks but is its own edifice, it can even be said to have its own goals in a sense. It is almost alive.pic.twitter.com/47Zxn0ICJn
There is a sense in which truth has its own utility function that is at least sometimes at odds with the interests and therefore the fitness and strategies and so forth of the species it uses as a host. This goes a long way to explaining human thought and behavior.
