      Why would it require that? And perhaps consciousness is merely a property of matter at a macroscopic level? Lots of things are only properties of matter at a macroscopic level. And what about the conflict with relativity?

      I said macroscopic though. Randomness is a dimension of fundamental particles that gets stripped away into determinism at a macroscopic level. Fundamental things do change between levels
