Very sympathetic to a certain class of libertarian academic arguments, but libertarians in the wild tend to be horrible. Conversely, very unsympathetic to most academic socialism/communism but the average socialist in the wild is very human and relatable.

Wonder why this is. Is it that nobody reads? Why is the default illiteracy of the libertarian more abhorrent than the default illiteracy of the socialist? I think the answer can only be that socialism is the first instinct of pro-social people and capitalism of anti-social people

At the same time, the more well-thought out capitalist theory is, the less antisocial and inhuman it is, while the more well-thought out socialist/communist theory is, the more antisocial and inhuman it is. Such a strange dynamic.

Replying to @Alephwyr
What are you thinking about here when you say "well-thought out capitalist theory"?

The only authors I've really read have been Friedman, Rothbard, and excerpts of Nozick. Extensions of each can be made that are in turn better and more consistent to first principles than any of the authors themselves. I guess it's the extensions I'm thinking of.
