The idea of cancelling $50k in student debt per borrower is so monstrously unfair, such an obvious sop to the upper classes and their children at the expense of the lower classes, that it's almost unfathomable that a major party supports it.
That doesn't solve the fundamental problem.

At the rate at which I'm able to pay I'll be in debt the rest of my life, so no, it doesn't solve my problem. Nor does it solve their problem. It's only possible to think of it as a "solution" if: 1. You think it's legitimate debt in the first place 2. You are falsely moralizing
