@tobyfox is Christian and interprets occult imagery in a laughably cartoonish and hermeneutically ignorant fashion. Probably. I could be wrong I just like assuming mean things about people.
Asriel sort of is the demiurge somewhat in the game though, or at least takes it on as a role that can be passed from person to person. It's a fairly clever conceit and it can't have been accidental, but I have no idea how to map the rest of Undertale to Christian metaphysics
