I don't understand Heidegger but I'm also told I got a translation that was so bad nobody had ever even seen it before.

well, even the good ones are pretty intractable unless you read old high german or know the terminology. but the SEP article is pretty accessible.

Yeah I mean, I also read the same college handouts as everyone else but dunno how to map broad for-morons statements like "Dasein is being in the world" to statements like "Reading too many books is a lusting-after which in its pursuit of the other is fundamentally inauthentic".
