If Twitter (or whoever) wants to comprehensively mindfuck its userbase, it could introduce a clout system where your total number of likes are displayed along with your ratio of likes to tweets. But THAT'S NOT ALL!

It should then give you a fractional number of likes based on HOW SOON you liked a tweet that got a bunch of likes. So if you're the first person to like a tweet, you get a massive bonanza of additional likes. SEE, IT COULD BE MUCH WORSE. PLEASE HIRE ME TO MAKE IT WORSE
