      The more important question is why anyone associated with or adjacent to NRx cares about the electoral process at all I think, but I guess instrumentally and recreationally making noise about it makes sense.

      in this case we don't need to be nearly so esoteric, we can see it as a reading of the collective mood, how they are apt to respond to various kinds of stimuli, etc

      Fundamentally it is a measurement of behavior under a specific system we don't want long term though. Once we change to a better system we'll need new measurements.

      This is attributing more human agency to the process than I think is conventional in these circles, but makes a bit more sense I suppose.
