I spent my twenties bouncing from location to location as a poor punk, deliberately shedding possessions. I retain very little from my childhood. The tattered copy of Jurassic Park I learned to read with, some photos, The Hard SF Renaissance, some patches, & some star wars cards.
I kind of needed all of those books to write my magnum opus video game series the way I wanted to but it's ok, if the Marquis de Sade can write Salo twice in his own blood then I can butcher a video game series trying to remember how to sound academic.

What's the dumbest thing you ever tried to hold on to? To me, it had to be a framed autographed 5 dollar bill by a bunch of extremely minor e-sports players from a tournament I took fourth place in (the $5 dollar bill was the prize). I ended up spending it on bus fare I think.
