The left calculus on debits/credits also gets confounded easily by any rhetorically persuasive invocation of the infinite. Since this is rarely God, it tends instead to be the (perceived) destruction of (a perceived) authenticity: authenticity becoming the new God, equally vague
Hence the destruction of a race, of a culture, or whatever; whatever it is that's perceived to grant authenticity; becomes the infinite crime that justifies, or requires infinite recompense.
