Analogy is only discovering a comment category— “memes & genes are... universal replicators” (they reproduce themselves, woah, that’s a category). Another category they fit into— “words with two e’s”

“Meme theory” is just how you explain “influence” to people who have never engaged with the history of culture. The “hopeful monsters” hypothesis applied from genes to memes is just a scientismic model of “the prophet” or “the poet.”

“Memetic evolution” is just “poetic inspiration” or “intellectual development” writ large. If “memes” are tied directly to “genes” this means that Truth is not a legitimate category— there are only “meme communities that survive” & “meme communities that die”— lol

This then brings into question “Is the memetic-genetic hypothesis a meme community which survives or dies” as the criterion for “truth”— & this is how you smuggle irrationalism into what ostends to be Purely Rational— shell game con artistry abounds.

So ironically if the Social Darwinists are just killed off by Religious Fundamentalists— then it’s proof that Social Darwinism is a worthless meme lmao

Once you eliminate the concept of Truth as being anything but a “word we use to approve of certain memes in a social game”— then the only criterion is Power.

If Power is the only criterion, then there is no Truth at all & everything is purely relativistic & “faith based meme communities” are all equally valid. Of course, this is never expressed openly by the “scientists”
