The same people who complain about this sing the praises of war and I'm like, what? This is war already, just with less randomness, more intelligence, and slightly lower individual stakes.

Neoliberalism is bad, but the way it divides tribe member against tribe member, splits family apart, comingles radically alien races to deleterious social effect and so forth is it's best aspect. You can't separate the wheat from the chaff without doing violence to the field.
