      Nobody's mutilated by doing absolutely nothing. Parents have the responsibility to take care of their children. Of course it's parents' responsibility.

      If you have your hand on the trolley lever the outcome depends on you, therefore you are culpable. Truly doing absolutely nothing would have meant not restraining me from self medicating, for instance. Not telling me manipulative lies. Not sending me to be tortured.

      Very Kierkegaardian. Most scientists, engineers, and other people of the mind believe in induction, unfortunately. I don't think it's productive trying to explain the implications to someone who is not equipped to understand or internalize them though
