There's this amusingly haughty dipshit that continually yells at me anonymously to read Mirowski, as if I haven't just because I don't find anything he says derails the arguments for markets. Dear dipshit, you are at "read Lenin" or "read Coase" level smug inanity.

This is the thing I continually find about the threat that left market anarchists represent, anti-market folks will fucking rant & rave about how "everyone already knows economics is bullshit" but they run and cower rather than accept invitations to debate shit in print at C4SS.

What I tend to find is that someone is in a department or research program where their advisors and peers go "oh [ neoclassical / austrians / etc ] there's this article or two that completely proved no one needs to listen to their arguments" and then uses them like wards.

Does yelling at you to read things ever work?

Oh I read literally everything. My weakness is a modernistic need to know the entire ideological landscape. People just think that because I haven't written lengthy critiques of say Tiqqun that I'm ignorant of it. In truth the points of critique are vast and not worth the effort.

Have you read my blogs?

Goddamn it. You pretty much entirely ignore a huge variety issues of historical/societal path dependency. I entirely deny that "those at the top of capitalism are intelligent" or necessary in any meaningful sense/degree. I'm not partial to the power/capital schema.

Those are such grave sticking points that I'm not sure it's worth prioritizing reading further, but that's my good faith explanation of my reaction.
