Disagree. Psych wards can be good. It depends on the level of training and staffing mostly, and then secondarily on resource accessibility. If police reform happens though, I can see how psych institutions might suddenly and for no reason become massively larger though.
I have a lot of experience with being subjected to institutions, both mental health institutions and things like alternative schools. There may be a place for them. There is not much place for like, 30-50% of the people who work in them.
