At least 90% of 'racism' is stereotype formation, which is a basic, normal, and broadly functional cognitive process, so it isn't ever going to end unless sentient life does -- and the disappointed revolution keeps escalating.

Criminals also kill innocents, at way higher rates than cops. You might want to adjust your calculations.

It's still possible to keep and bear arms to a reasonable extent in most of the country. I believe self-defense is an individual responsibility, and work to promote the 2nd amendment by supporting grassroots pro-gun organizations financially and trying to keep people informed.

While that all sounds plausible, it's the Ferguson Effect that in fact happens.

It may. It may also be a complement of some part of both. I tend to side against the state and in favor of liberty even when it's expensive in some way. Ultimately whatever is going on is messy enough that I'm happy to just wait until post-singularity AI figures it out.
