i appreciate this in the abstract, but still struggle with the idea that civilization should/needs to fall to create this
There are two different major competing definitions of civilization: 1. The most impressive products of human interaction, regardless of what type of interaction was entailed (violence, coercion etc) 2. The domain of human interaction which doesn't include violence, coercion etc

What's falling now isn't civilization imho, it's just a specific system.

i like the second kind of civ. is that what needs to fall for the sake of the first? im not sure that trade would be worth it

these categories are stupid. violence is irrelevant to the category of civilization. maybe if you are speaking informally about being "civil," but thats an expression and not technical anthropology. civilization=society + technology
