Your average human is the culmination of endless hours of labor, combined with thousands of years of complex cultural development, too. Breeding does not a grown and independent human make, lots of neocortical programming required.

I mean, wild children raised by wolves are human too. I guess this just reflects more on me and my inability to distinguish in any fine-grained sense between people.

A television cannot fall into sin, nor can it grow closer to the divine will. Therefore it lacks moral agency. Entities with moral agency ("rational animals") are infinitely more valuable than those without.

Moral agents (humans) are currently the primary source of production. If you produce property at the expense of humans, you will eventually produce less. Producing humans produces property. Until efficient AI happens, then morals or no, humans are more important (to a degree).
