there's always gotta be one there probably are cops who are white supremacists, but the simpler explanation for the systematic observation is blacks commit more crimes and thus have more contact with cops either way, would you want to work together for police reform, or..?https://twitter.com/negrosubversive/status/1258543709144023040 …

Still not convinced conviction rates are a good index into crime rates.

it's one piece of evidence that, with others, leads to the conclusion it's the simplest explanation and an entirely reasonable hypothesis to explain the observation of higher rates of cop brutality

Odd to imagine reality is built of a collection of simple explanations that can each be derived from a single atomic fact, with nothing complex or compound anywhere. Black criminality has much less evidence than black IQ differences. So I favor an explanation based on the latter

that's fair, I just mean "simpler" in the sense of requiring fewer postulates, but we could go deep on socially derived knowledge such as crime stats and the like, I'm not opposed to other explanations, I just see "white people racist" as not very compelling given other facts

Oh sure. And really, at the point where racism becomes equivalent to cognitive elitism in practice you have a demarcation problem.
