i’m enjoying the trans thing obviously trans people don’t have the privileged access to an understanding of “woman” or “man” to have any authority over what gender they actually are but society actually *does*, the concepts are socially constructed- consensus is necessary

The concepts may be socially constructed but the underlying facts aren't. Also, some constructions are worse than others even if you grant the premise that preference for a given construction is subjective.

I agree! Society isn’t any more infallible than individuals. But *the more* socially constructed anything is, the less authority the individual has over it- it’s literally a cultural technology that people depend on- trans people are the boss of society.

I think you're conflating social construction with egalitarianism in some way. The mechanisms through which epistemological consensus is formed can take as many shapes as a nation or society itself.
