      trigonometry is the first time you have an opportunity to realize that you *aren't* trying to reduce everything to a Real so you can put a number onto a form in a test formulae are *things in themselves*, and their relations are more important than arbitrary digits

      That's true but my brain processes trig+ as "a name for a whole bunch of different numbers depending on context" rather than "a platonic true name" because I am a dumbfuck
