Huh. I didn't know it was disliked in Japan. I saw it and asked, "who greenlit bringing this to America?" I mean, it was a great movie, but is was also a biography of Jiro Horikoshi.
I guess now is as good a time as any to say that The Wind Rises was a good movie and the fact that it was hated by both the Japanese left and right is stupid and wrong.
